About me

Hey again! My name is Mado, I’m a Canadian product & user experience designer with over 5 years of practice to my name. I got my start working with user data in 2018, designing outreach strategies for a charitable software nonprofit, and it was from there that my skillset in the field really began to snowball -

Industries

I’ve since earned my master’s degree from the University of Toronto, where I studied both UX Design & Human Centered Data Science. The intersection of these two disciplines helped ground my toolkit in both qualitative & quantitative methods, while giving me an outlet to explore the ethical landscape of digital design. You can see the output of some of my research in my Project Playground.

Much of my career experience has come concurrently with my education, during which I held both full time and part time UX positions across 4 professional industries. My most recent venture has come in the form of leading a UX & UI transformation at Giatec - an AI & IoT scale-up working to revolutionize the concrete industry.

The ethos of what I do is that accessible and value sensitive design should always take center stage. We, as leaders and creators, need to take the time to understand the people most impacted by our work, and let their voices reflect in the technologies we design. I try to embody this as best I can through the projects I work on by prioritizing accessibility, learning from experts, and always putting the user first.

Through and through, I’m passionate about taking on impactful work that can create real social change.
